| Educational Qualification |
- Overman: Diploma in Mining Engineering + Valid Overman’s Certificate of Competency (DGMS) + minimum 1 year experience in coal mine.
- Mining Sirdar: Diploma in Mining Engineering + valid statutory competency certificates OR Overman/Mining Sirdarship Certificate from DGMS + 0–2 years’ experience depending on qualification route.

| Experience | Experience certificate must be in DGMS prescribed format, issued by competent authority. |
| Age Limit | Maximum 32 years as on 01.09.2025 (UR); relaxable 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years OBC(NCL), 10 years PwBD, up to 45 years for EC & WBPDCL/MDO employees. Ex-Servicemen get age relaxation as per rules. |
Selection Process |

- Shortlisting based on eligibility and reservation rules.
- Personal Interview (100% weightage) to be held at Kolkata.
- Merit list will be prepared based on interview score; date of birth will decide seniority in case of tie.
- Document verification will be done prior to interview.
